In year 1 we have had an exciting first week back after half term starting our new topic: The Polar Regions.
We received a letter from an explorer who was planning on travelling to The Polar Regions asking us to do some research for them. We had an interesting Geography lesson finding out where the Polar Regions are, what its like there and what animals are there. We then used this information to write a letter back to the explorer.
In English we started looking at non-fiction books about the Polar Regions and identified the features that can be found in these books.
We also had a fun afternoon of craft to decorate our classroom in line with our Polar Regions theme. One child came up with the idea of making paper snowflakes and children then worked in teams to make other different decorations.
