"Valuing Potential, Creating Opportunities"

Week of 6th January 2019

A warm welcome back to school. It was lovely to see children returning to school with big smiles and  a very keen attitude to get back to school routines.

As part of our ‘Take one poem’ week, we learned about William Blake. We got to grips with his famous poem ‘Tyger’ and we delved into the wonderful world of poetry. We wrote our own poetry using an impressive range of adjectives and a clever use of similes.

The imagery of Blake’s ‘Tyger’, inspired us to draw our versions of tigers by using lots of techniques. Here are some of our drawings.

In maths, we spent the week learning about measurements. It got us thinking about how we measure height, length, weight and time. We particularly enjoyed using the pan balances to compare the mass of different objects.
