"Valuing Potential, Creating Opportunities"

Friday 13th November

Hello!

It’s been another super week in Year 6! In literacy this week we have been working on apostrophes, colons and semi-colons, all within the context of our Carrie’s War diaries, which we’re drafting next week. In maths we learned how to find fractions of quantities, percentages of quantities and finally calculate percentage increases and decreases, including some tricky reverse percentage problems! In science we learned about Charles Darwin as part of our ‘Evolution and Inheritance’ topic, in geography we learned about the features of different biomes and in computing we made a start on our World War II multimedia presentations, as you can see here:

Next week we’ll be planning, drafting, peer marking and publishing our Carrie’s War diaries, as well as learning how to add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions and mixed numbers. In PE we’ll be learning more tag rugby skills with Mr Harris, in DT we’ll be investigating some shelters from around our school site and in RE we’ll be comparing our understanding of Buddhism to Christianity – a week not to be missed!

Have a lovely weekend and I’ll see you all next week 🙂
