Hello!
It’s been another busy week in Year 6! In literacy this week we have been writing sentences with description, sentences with speech punctuation and sentences using apostrophes, all of which will hopefully go into our ‘Woof!’-inspired stories next week! In maths we dived into some revision work on fractions, including simplifying them, ordering them and converting them into decimals and percentages! In geography we did some field work around our school site, in French we learned how to say what we like to wear in different weathers, and this afternoon we had our first go at Irish dancing, as you can see here:
Next week we’ll be drafting, peer marking and publishing our ‘Woof!’ stories in literacy, which promise to be fantastic! We’ll also be revising finding fractions and percentages of numbers in maths, as well as completing a variety of calculations using fractions and mixed numbers. In science we’ll be learning about our pulse and how exercise affects it, in computing we’re going to start putting together our silent movies, and next Wednesday is ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’, when we’re going to spend the day completing all sorts of activities designed to promote good mental health and wellbeing. I can’t wait!
Have a lovely weekend and I will see you all next week 🙂
