What a busy and productive week we’ve had in Year 6! In literacy we drafted, peer marked and published our short stories inspired by ‘Woof!’, and I was particularly impressed with how supportive the children were in the role of peer marker on Thursday. In maths we continued to revise our fractions skills with Miss O’Grady and completed lots of challenging work on fractions and percentages of amounts, as well as calculating with fractions and mixed numbers. In science we started to create ‘double-page spreads’ to show all of our learning about the circulatory and digestive systems, in French we answered some questions about our appearance and the clothes we like to wear, and I’m really excited to share with you two of our fabulous display boards – one created on ‘Wellbeing Wednesday’ about things that make us feel happy and the other showcasing some of our outstanding art work with Mrs Suji:
Next week is our final week before the half-term holiday, so we will be doing some assessments to check where we’re at with our learning and what we need to work on for the rest of the year. However we also have a local geography field trip planned, PE with Mr Harris and Music with Miss Fort as always, AND I’m really looking forward to seeing all of your lovely projects on Friday. Don’t forget that from Monday as well you can also bring your rucksacks and proper pencil cases again – hurrah!
Have a lovely (and hopefully dry!) weekend and I’ll see you all next week 🙂
