It’s been another busy and productive week in Year 6! In literacy, we drafted, peer marked and published our own paragraphs, incorporating all of the grammar, punctuation and vocabulary elements that we’d learned over the course of this term so far. In maths we jumped into a calculation revision unit with some great work on solving addition, subtraction, multiplication and division problems. In science we learned about the journey blood cells take in and out of our hearts, in RE we reflected on our own beliefs about God, and in geography we drew graphs to compare the population density of cities in North America with cities in the UK, as you can see here:
Next week we’ll be starting a brand new unit of literacy, inspired by our previous class reader ‘Woof!’, by Allan Ahlberg. We’ll also be rounding off our calculation unit with some work on factors, multiples and those ever-popular word problems! In PE will be honing our rounders skills with Mr Harris, in science we’ll be learning about our digestive system and in PSHE we’ll be learning about many ways to keep safe in the big, wide world – a week not to be missed!
Have a fantastic long weekend and I will see you all on Tuesday 🙂
